What we believe

Apostles Creed

“We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, & in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died & was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen”

The Great Commission

Matthew 28. 16-20

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Two most important commandments in the Bible:

Matthew 22:36-40

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandments in the Law? Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment”. And, the second is like it: “ Love your neighbor as yourself. All of the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments”.

What sums up the Law & Prophets:

Matthew 7:12

The Golden Rule-

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

God’s Saving Grace & Forgiveness:

Romans 3:22-24

“This righteousness from God comes through Faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his Grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus”.

Ephesians 2:8

“For it is by Grace you have been saved, through Faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-In Christ Jesus!”

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

God taught us to pray… The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, whom art in heaven, hollowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever, Amen

“A Prayer”

St.Ignatius Prayer:

“Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous, Teach me to serve as you deserve, To give and not count the cost, To fight and not heed the wounds, To labor and not seek to rest, To give of myself and not ask for a reward, Except the reward of knowing that I am doing your will.”
